Roots

For Young Adults, college Age & Up

The Roots is a real and honest community that was started after years of prayer. We are very intentional about creating an enviroment that is open and welcoming to all people in all walks of life and at all stages of their journey. We don't claim to have the answers but we are having a great time exploring the questions! We invite you to bring yours to the table.

If you have ever had doubts or questions or had a hard time believing it all.....You are not alone!

The Roots is designed for "young adults". That being said if you know someone older than you.... you're young and we'll leave the adult part up to you.

You are invited to come and Join us every Thursday night at 7:00pm for free coffee, Live Music, A Message, Bible Study and just genuine fellowship time. We meet at Lakeside UMC in the fellowship hall located at 2160 Crozier Ave. Come as you are, early or late – everyone is welcome! If you have any questions please call Jimmy Epplett @ 750-9707.

Coffee Provided by The Coffee House!!! Yum!!!

The Roots Ministry,

We have also had a great Christmas season at The Roots. We decided to do things differently again this year at Roots and to have very unconventional worship services. We focused our energy on gifts with a purpose and sharing the gift of each others time and talents. We collected food and household items for people in need. We spent time working with some of the more "experienced" members of our congregations learning how to knit and make things ourselves from candy to jewelry to homemade bows and boxes using recycled materials. What a great experience it was to watch these amazingly gifted individuals pass on there experience to a new generation of young people. We are very blessed to have some amazingly talented members of our congregations that are so willing to share their gifts. They are just waiting to be asked. Maybe there is something you have always wanted to try, ask around I bet you can find someone who knows how to do it and would love to help you learn how. What a great gift we give when we share ourselves with each other. We went on to make blankets for homeless people and to create homemade Christmas ornaments to give as gifts to those we love. I have learned so much through these experiences and through all of you! Thank you for sharing your gifts and your time with us. We have had an incredible year of outreach service and spiritual growth and this was just a great way to finish out the year. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

We look forward to another fruitful year of ministry and opportunity with the young adults of Roots and their families and friends. There is no greater gift than sharing ourselves with each other as we seek the heart of God and follow in the footsteps of Jesus! God is at work in the hearts of these people and they are changing the world every day! I am honored to be a part of what God is doing through this group!

On a personal note,
God has blessed me by making me a part of three different church communities! He has shown me so many things and challenged me in so many ways this past year. He has given me a wonderful wife and three amazing children and surrounded me with incredible family members and extended family members my whole life! I am a very blessed man and I am very thankful for all of you being a part of my family’s lives. We pray you have been blessed this year and that you have noticed those blessings. God is with us! I pray you feel his presence and his love as you start this new year of opportunities to share him with the world!

Peace and Love Jimmy!
