Children Of Our Lord

COOL stands for Children Of Our Lord and is for children in 1st through 5th grade. We meet at 7:00 on Wednesday nights. COOL starts in late September and runs through May.

Each eventing there is a theme, such as "God loves you". Lessons are prepared by an adult and we have three teen age girls that present the lesson. The theme based lesson is followed by Bible verses associated with the theme. A discussion follows with directed questions. A theme based project is presented. The result of this project is sent home with the child. Hopefully it will remind the child of the lesson and the child will explain its meaning to their parents. Children play a game, have a snack. Discuss the theme. The session is ended with a pray circle. The children are encouraged to pray for family, friend etc. The three girls we have working with the children this year are well liked and have fun with the kids.

About 2 times a month we have a 15 minute song time. Kristen Avila plays the piano and teaches a song. Sometimes we use Veggie Tales to reinforce the lesson. We have also had some chime practice. So we do a variety of fun things.
